About Me
Born in Manchester (UK) more years ago than I care to remember and now living not far from that there London. By day I work in HR, by night I am a culinary goddess (in my head anyway!). From mid-June 2015, I will be travelling to Paris where I will spend 6 weeks' learning all the basics of French pâtisserie - I'm preparing to take on some pounds!-

A good luck surprise from my team
Today saw the last day that my team and I were together before I head off to Paris and they surprised me with a bottle of pink champagne and a raft of good luck messages. I have to give a special mention to this amazing group of women who are enabling me to go on this adventure by looking after everything while I am away – thank you to you all, I just know that I am leaving everything in safe hands.
I was particularly touched by a poem that was written inside, I feel compelled to share:
We say ‘Au Revoir’ to our friend Jane
As she heads off to Paris on a BA plane
Where she’ll no doubt whip up a storm
Along with the odd cream horn
Where no cake tin will be left unused
And some may well be seriously abused
As she perfects her skills in patisserie
In the arrondissements of gay Paris
We’re already looking forward to when she’s back
And the new standard for our away day snacks
It will be the pinnacle of cake heaven
For the OE sweet-toothed seven!
My husband says that I should keep the bottle as a reward for completing my course but I don’t think it’s going to last that long – in fact, I don’t think it will last until tomorrow night. Thank you again ladies, it means a lot!
