About Me
Born in Manchester (UK) more years ago than I care to remember and now living not far from that there London. By day I work in HR, by night I am a culinary goddess (in my head anyway!). From mid-June 2015, I will be travelling to Paris where I will spend 6 weeks' learning all the basics of French pâtisserie - I'm preparing to take on some pounds!-

All good things must come to an end
It is with a heavy heart that I leave the city that I have called home for the last 6 weeks. As if this was some sort of premonition, the weather has turned – it is raining and feels positively autumnal, just a shame that I didn’t get to wear most of my long-sleeved tops during the heatwave that happened during most of my time here.
So, I’m sitting on the Eurostar with hubby by my side as I head back. I’m dreading going home, you know that feeling when you get back from holiday and you have to unpack all of your bags, you have a stack of washing to do with lots of mail to open – times that feeling by 3! It will be great to sleep in my own bed though.
Aren’t trains great for reflecting, looking aimlessly through the window and thinking about absolutely nothing. I’m just going to think about which cake I will make first when I get home and how soon it will be. I’ll also be thinking about my next adventure, I feel that I need a new challenge and something else to focus my energies upon – please feel free to add any suggestions in the comments box below. One idea that I do like the sound of is taking an extended period of leave each year, this might be my new thing. The French seem to take most of August off so why not me? Why not you? Of course, it doesn’t have to be August, maybe an extended vacation driving to the South of France next year . . . who knows.
In the meantime, I will focus on getting back to work and catching up with everything that I have missed whilst I’ve been away. I do have to give a very special mention to my team who have kept things on track whilst I have been on my adventure – thank you ladies, I owe you one, I promise to bake an myriad of cakes to make up for it!
